Recycling

Chris Nicholson is campaigning for better recycling in our area

The Liberal Democrats are the only party that takes the environment seriously.

We would take immediate steps to build a green economy, focusing government spending on things like renewable energy and sustainable housing.

We would also put Britain on track to be carbon-neutral by 2050.

Closer to home, the Liberal Democrats took big steps for a greener local area when we ran the Council from 2002 to 2006. The Lib Dem administration introduced the orange bag recycling scheme and picked Lambeth's recycling rate off the floor. The current Labour administration has made little progress on recycling.
